Does anyone know if you can deactivate the LED connected to PIN D7? I am using all of PORTD for my project and the on board LED is pretty annoying when it constantly blinks.
Ah… That sounds impossible without some modification to the core…
Thanks for the info, but If I do that then I can not use all 8 digital pins. I am writing a word to the entire port. If there is now work around, then I can look at changing what I am trying to do.
You might just want to cover it with some tape in the meanwhile 
It’s hardwired and soldering is required to get this going…

I figured as much. Hmmm, guess I can cover it. Nobody will see it since it will be in an enclosure.
