# Need 5v (battery) for servo

Unfortunately this is a compact device in a tight area, I’ve got 9v 10-year Lithium Ion smoke detector batteries, but am a little gun-shy about damaging something (already fried one tracker kit: [post here](https://community.particle.io/t/answer-charging-a-9v-battery-via-the-asset-tracker/28237/3?u=thresholdengineering) )
