# Muon and the onboard WIZnet W5500

Hi,

In low power applications that do not use ethernet, will DeviceOS be able to cut power to the WIZnet W5500 chip?

Sort of. The Wiznet is powered by the 3V3\_AUX output from the power module, so it can be turned off, though this will also power down LoRa and the Qwiic connector.

The other option would be to put the W5500 in power saving mode in software.
