# How to turn off Photon wifi manually(without code)

I want to run the code on my photon but I am in a location without wifi. Is there a way to turn off wifi without telling it to do so in the code?

You can’t.  
If your application is _supposed_ to be running with or without WiFi, you need to choose a suitable SYSTEM\_MODE.  
If you haven’t set SYSTEM\_MODE or SYSTEM\_THREAD(ENABLED) the default is single threaded AUTOMATIC which demands to talk to the cloud before it executes your code.

Thanks @ScruffR . I thought so but wasn’t sure if there was a trick.  
I am going to set my Photon to semi-auto mode and that should work.
