How low can you go? (Assembler question)

How low can you go with the default setup and usb programming or even uploading using wifi??

Is it possible to upload an assembler binary?
It may seem stupid, but a lot of micros courses start off using assembler then moving on to C and greater things.

Has the tutorial for Arduino but obviously the spark core works much nicer as a first board in terms of hardware.
(Not wanting to overwrite the boot loader, the JTAG shield would allow for that, just want to upload assembler vs. Arduino)

You can absolutely write all the way down to assembly language, even using the over the air firmware update! We haven’t tried it ourselves so if you experiment with it, please share!
