End user way to pass variable to firmware?

Has anyone found a good way to pass some variables to your firmware without any “programming” or flashing?

I would like to pass a dozen variables into my program. (Two important ones will be a web address and a 32 char API key), but I am unsure of what the best way might be. Anyone have a bright idea? (Even dim ideas will suffice at this point :stuck_out_tongue: )

A spark function? You can pass pretty long strings that way. Parse the string and save the variable value to eeprom?
