Can the Spark Core run python code?

Would it be possible to code the spark core in python instead of C++? I’m much more fluent in python compared to C so it would help me a great deal. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Hashim.

The python interpreter is a pretty big piece of software - too big to squeeze into a spark - so the spark doesn’t run python.

But Spark core is made to be easy. Let us know what you want to do and I’m sure you’ll get help with that!

No worries, I’ll just use this as an excuse to brush up on my C. Thanks for the quick reply!

Depending on what you want to do with your Spark, you could control it using Ruby (Artoo), JavasScript (CylonJS), or alternative JavaScript (Johnny Five), or Go (Gobot).

To do this you would need to be running Spark’s Tinker, or VoodooSpark on the Spark Core, and have the above frameworks running on another computer (for instance a BeagleBone Black or Raspberry Pi).
