Can a core connect to xfinity wifi?

Can a core connect to the xfinity wifi network? Has anyone tried?

What comcast does is pulls a signal from the wifi routers they setup
the spare signal and publishes it for anyone to use
and since they have a monopoly it has huge range
so everyone who uses them as there ISP becomes a hotspot by default

Your XFINITY Wireless Gateway broadcasts an additional “xfinitywifi” network signal for use with XFINITY WiFi. This creates an extension of the XFINITY WiFi network right in your home that any XFINITY Internet subscriber can use to sign in and connect. This XFINITY WiFi service is completely separate from your secure WiFi home network.

I don’t have any personal experience with this, but it looks like it probably will not work. To be able to use the service, it requires a login via web page, which the Photon/Core does not support (since it’s not a web browser). In theory, it would be possible to script all of it by writing your own firmware for the Photon/Core, but it would probably be pretty tedious.

This method is called captive portal then?

@wgbartley and @wesner0019, in a different post regarding (if I remember correctly) either enterprise WiFi or public Hotspots, I believe that @mdma mentioned that it could be possible to add the web credentials process as part of the wifi connection logic.
