The example apps in the Android Cloud SDK and device setup lib are pretty close to the simplest possible Android apps that can talk to Particle devices:

> **[particle-iot/spark-sdk-android](https://github.com/particle-iot/spark-sdk-android)**
>
> spark-sdk-android - Official Particle Cloud SDK for Android

> **[particle-iot/spark-setup-android](https://github.com/particle-iot/spark-setup-android)**
>
> spark-setup-android - Spark Device Setup library for Android

Hope that helps.
